What to Recycle

Recycling Container Collection Guidelines

The Safford Residential Recycling Program is co-mingled/"single stream". This means that all of the acceptable recyclable materials can be placed into your blue recycling container together.


What Can Be Recycled:

PAPER

  • Office paper
  • Junk mail
  • Catalogs
  • Phone books
  • Paper bags
  • Cardboard
  • Paperback books
  • Hardback books
  • Paperboard (cereal boxes, etc.)

PLASTICS

  • Plastics 1 through 7
  • Soda bottles
  • Juice bottles
  • Water bottles
  • Milk jugs Juice jugs
  • Detergent bottles
  • Plastic tubs
  • Plastic jars
  • Rigid Laundry Hampers
  • Plastic baskets

METAL

Pick-up Schedule

Find Your Pick-up Area & Schedule:



Recycling pick-ups are on the 2nd scheduled pick-up day each week. To find out your recycling day, simply locate your home on the color-coded map. Your pickup area on the map corresponds to the same color on the calendar. Download both files for easy reference.

Container: 96-gallon blue bin provided.

  • Must remain five feet from other objects or containers.
  • Place containers out by 6:00am on your scheduled pick up day.
  • Remove containers by 7:00pm when they have been serviced.
  • Do not overfill containers.

Materials: Co-mingle all recyclable items.
  • Only recyclable items should be placed in the container.
